    Mark, you are misexegeting the passage. Paul is talking about the result of the Gospel for the relationship between Jew and Gentile. That is plain from the resultative "that" (hina). Furthermore, it is evident from the context of that part of the chapter. You cherry-picked the quotation. You cannot understand verses 11ff apart from the vital context of verses 1-10, which plainly describe the Gospel itself as that of making the person dead in sin alive. From this first part of the passage, Paul draws the implications regarding Jew/Gentile relations with the "therefore" in verse 11.
